This is Jess from jesshuff.com. In this video, I’ll show you how to do a half double crochet stitch for your amigurumi project.

This stitch is abbreviated to hdc. To complete a half double crochet stitch:

  1. Yarn over.
  2. Insert your hook under the top loops of the next stitch.
  3. Yarn over. Pull the yarn through the stitch to draw up a loop.
  4. There should now be three loops on your hook.
  5. Yarn over. Pull the yarn through all three loops on your hook.
