Tutorial: How to attach a tail to a body

In this tutorial I will show you how to attach a tail to a body when assembling an amigurumi animal using an invisible ink marker.

Note: This tutorial assumes that your tail has already been stuffed and has been slip stitch closed.

Supplies

  • Yarn needle
  • Disappearing ink marker (buy here)

Step 1 – Starting 7 rows up from the starting magic ring on the body, draw a horizontal line spanning 3 stitches centered between the legs.
Step 2 – Before attaching the tail, make sure the color join is facing down. This will ensure it's the least visible.
Step 3 – Using a yarn needle and the yarn tail on the top of the tail, attach the tail to the body in each of the marked stitches.
Step 4 – Secure each last stitch with a knot. Use your yarn needle to hide the yarn tail inside your work, then exit the needle elsewhere on the work, pull the yarn tail taut, and snip it right against the body (the yarn tail should disappear inside the body).
